School in the Middle Ages

From Wednesday 1 July to Sunday 19 September

Throughout the summer, the Manoir de la Cour will host a large temporary exhibition on a medieval theme. After cooking in 2019, crime and justice in 2020, it is the school that is being honoured with this exhibition designed by the Tour Jean Sans Peur in Paris.

During your visit, you will discover the importance of education in the Middle Ages, even if it affected small peasants and lords in an unequal way.

This exhibition offers a complete overview of the school and student world in the Middle Ages: from the small school to the university, including the education of young nobles and professional apprenticeships. The tour highlights the different types of schools, classroom space and equipment, subjects, the rhythm of schooling, the university environment, etc.
